FESTIVAL MAKEUP BAG

I don't know if i mentioned, but I'm going to Glastonbury. I've religiously been checking the forecast for the week but with the recent sunshine spells, things are starting to look a little downhill. Besides the weather, a makeup bag is a necessity (in a beauty bloggers case anyway). I've tried my best to cut down my stash to the items I really need. Hopefully this will help some of you too!

Base
Starting with base, this is where I did get a little enthusiastic as I found lots of multi-tasking compacts. I've opted for the GOSH CC cream illuminating foundation*, instead of a regular foundation this is has a lighter consistency but still provides the perfect amount of coverage and is very moisturising. It's perfect for evening out skin tone and lasting all day. The Soap and Glory kick ass concealer kit contains a translucent setting powder, two concealers, one blemishes and the other for under eye circles - a festival essential. Finally for base is the Sleek face form palette, this covers all grounds. Containing a bronzer, highlighter and blusher in a neat little compact.

Eyes & Brows
Instead of faffing about with different eyeshadows and palettes, I've narrowed it down to one little product. The Maybelline colour tattoo in On and On Bronze, it just gets the job done. Easy to apply and blend with your fingers and stays put all day. I'm not usually a lover of waterproof mascaras but with the uncertain forecast it's been deemed a necessity, I'm packing the GOSH waterproof volume mascara*. For eyebrows I'm taking the Benefit gimmie brow, the volumizing formula means acceptable brows without fiddling around with a little angled brush and powder.

Lips
Lip balm is an essential for keeping everything nice and moisturised, my lip balm of choice is the Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm, which has a really fresh peppermint scent. For lip colour's I've decided to go with the chubby stick style formulas as they are really easy to apply and top up with through out the day. Some of my favourites are the MUA power pout in Runway and the Revlon ColourBurst matte balm in Audacious.

Other
For nail varnish I've chosen the GOSH Danielle in Sea Me!* which is beautiful, bright blue shade. The formula also has a lot of shimmer running through it, which usually means the lasting power is pretty good and they are less resistant to chipping. As for the rest, I'm packing baby wipes and lots of them!

I've just weighed my rucksack and it's edging on 4 stone, wish me luck!

  2. Ohh you lucky thing going to Glastonbury! I used to go every year with my hippy mother until I was about 13 or 14. I'm 18 now I still get wistful whenever I hear about it on the tv or something - I just want to be there!
